Marvin Mayfield, Solitary is Brutal

Summary: Marvin Mayfield served 2 terms at Rikers. He spent 3 months in solitary confinement during the summer. He thought he might suffocate and die in his cell, and he doused himself with water from his toilet to stay cool. His story is part of our oral history collection (part 2 of 2).
