Robert Williams

Robert Williams grew up in the Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan. He was first sent to Rikers Island in 1994. He was released, but he returned to Rikers in 1996. He didn't partake in popular activities at Rikers such as chess, checkers, cards, and visiting the law library. He wasn't used to being locked up, and he describes a typical day at Rikers as "boring." (Summary written by: Annie Anderson)
